High Country 5K
The High Country 5K takes place on April 11, 2026, in Hoover, Alabama, at 452 Park Avenue. The event includes the main High Country 5K Race and an Elementary Challenge 5K for kindergarten through 5th grade.
Race packets are available for pickup on Friday, April 10 at the Family Life Center, 2820 Rockland Drive, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on race day from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM at the event site. The race is described as the longest-running road race in Bluff Park and is hosted by Shades Crest Baptist Church.
Event services and features listed by the organizer include a t-shirt, chip timing, corral starts based on estimated finish time, police escort, mile markers, and water at the midpoint. A medal ceremony is scheduled with a free Pancake Breakfast immediately afterward. Elementary School Challenge participants run the same course with a delayed start. The main race is open to ages 12 through 99; the elementary event is open to ages 5 through 12.
Registration pricing listed includes a $25 early-bird period from 11/01/25 to 01/31/26 and a $35 registration period from 02/01/26 to 04/10/26. A student rate of $10 is noted for K through 5th grade.
