Event details
The High Country 5K takes place in Hoover, AL on April 11, 2026, at 452 Park Avenue (zip 35226). The running program includes two events:
- 5K : High Country 5K Race (open to ages 12 - 99)
- 5K : Elementary Challenge 5K for K-5th grade (open to ages 5 - 12)
Elementary Challenge participants run the same course with a delayed start. The event offers chip timing, corral starts assigned by estimated finish time, mile markers, a police escort, and water available at the midpoint.
Logistics and registration
Race packets can be picked up on Friday, April 10 at the Family Life Center (2820 Rockland Drive, Hoover) from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, or on race day from 7:00 am to 8:00 am. The event includes a medal ceremony followed immediately by a free pancake breakfast. A t-shirt is included; note that registrants after March 31 may receive t-shirts within two weeks after the race. Listed registration fees include a $25 early-bird rate (11/1/25-1/31/26), $35 regular registration (2/1/26-4/10/26), and a $10 student rate for K-5th grade.
