About the race
The Harcourts Cooper & Co Hibiscus Half Marathon is a community running event held at Metro Park, Millwater on Sunday, 18 October 2026, with a rain date of Sunday, 25 October 2026. The event base occupies a large sports facility with grass playing fields, concrete paths, public toilets and changing rooms.
The event offers multiple race distances:
- 21 km half marathon, single-loop, described as flat and fast
- 10 km Classic, one loop of the Te Ara Tahuna walkway with additional sections
- 5 km fun run following Metro Park paths and the Te Ara Tahuna walkway
- 2 km kids dash entirely within Metro Park
Facilities and participant services include a self-service Gear Drop area (uncovered, numbered aisles), a Key Drop container, numerous portaloos plus public toilets, and aid stations approximately every 3–5 km supplying water and electrolyte drink. Race numbers with timing tags must be worn on the front of the shirt. Number collection is available the day before the event and on race morning; AHMS Series Pass entrants may receive numbers by courier.
At the finish, all registered participants receive a finisher medal and a snack such as a banana or bar, with a nearby water and electrolyte tent. Results are updated in real time and a QR code on the race number links to individual result pages. An awards ceremony and spot prize draws are held after the races; presence and registration mats are required to claim spot prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
