Herts Hobble 2026
Herts Hobble is a circular cross country event based at Baldock Scout Hut, Park Drive, Baldock SG7 6EN. The routes run to the south east of Baldock across undulating grassland, fields and woodland and offer panoramic views of the Hertfordshire countryside. There is no parking at the Scout Hut.
Distances offered:
- 26 miles minimum age 14
- 18 miles minimum age 14
Route support includes checkpoints with snacks and hot and cold drinks, additional water points in hot weather, and a light meal at the finish. Drinks and biscuits are available at the start; participants are asked to bring their own mug. Finishers receive a certificate.
Entries open 1 March 2026 and close 13 June 2026 unless the entry limit of 175 is reached earlier. Entry fees are listed separately for LDWA members and non members; entries are not transferable. Cancellations before 30 May 2026 are refundable subject to a £3 administration fee. Entrants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times. Dogs are not permitted.
Route descriptions and .gpx files will be posted on the Essex and Herts LDWA website seven days before the event. Maps covering the routes are Explorer 193 and 194 or Landranger 166 as applicable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
