Heroes & Heritage 5K
The Heroes & Heritage 5K is a family friendly run/walk held in Canton, Ohio on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 305 Wertz Ave NW. The event honors Veterans and service members during America's 250th year and welcomes participants of all ages.
The main distance is 5K. Two registration pathways are available: a community registration with a fee of $17.76 (for those who are not Veterans, Active Military, Reserve Military, or National Guard) and a Veterans/Active/Reserve/National Guard registration with no fee. Community registration opens June 18, 2026 and closes July 12, 2026. The Veterans/Active/Reserve/National Guard registration opens June 18, 2026 and remains open through race day.
All participants receive an event T-shirt, a finisher medal, a special gift, and race entry to the Stark County Fair on race day. Additional fair tickets can be purchased during registration for spectators. Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall, and in age groups including 1-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, and 85+. A ruck division recognizes the top five men and top five women overall.
Proceeds benefit the Veterans Service Commission of Stark County Donation Account, which focuses on serving veterans and their dependents and is staffed by veterans and family members of veterans. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
