Event Overview
The Heroes & Heritage 5K is a family-oriented run and walk held in Canton, Ohio. Organized to celebrate veterans and service members during the 250th year of the United States, the event takes place on September 5, 2026. The course is open to participants of all ages and abilities.
Distances and Registration
The event features a single distance with different registration categories:
- 5K
Registration for veterans, active military, reserve military, and National Guard members is provided at no cost. There is a community registration for all other participants. Proceeds from the event benefit the Veterans Service Commission of Stark County Donation Account, an organization that supports veterans and their dependents through a staff of veterans and their family members.
Participant Information
All participants receive an event t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a special gift. Entry into the Stark County Fair on the day of the race is included with each race registration. Spectators may purchase additional fair tickets during the registration process.
Competition and Awards
Awards are presented to the top three overall men and women. Age group awards are also distributed in five-year increments starting from age 15 through age 85 and older, with a dedicated category for participants aged 1-14. Additionally, the event features a Bruck division, with recognition for the top five men and women in the ruck competition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
