8th Annual Heroes for Autism 5K and 1 Mile
The event is a community 5K and 1 Mile held at Edgar M. Queeny County Park in Manchester, Missouri. It is organized by the Freddie Ford Family Foundation to raise awareness and acceptance of autism and to support foundation programs for social skills, health and fitness, and community education.
The event includes family-oriented activities such as music, a bounce house, vendors, and food and drinks available for donations. Participants are encouraged to wear superhero costumes. The event is open to walkers and runners of all ages and abilities. A course map is listed as coming soon.

Registration information notes an Early Bird fee of $35 for the 5K and $25 for the Mile. Fees increase to $45 for the 5K and $35 for the Mile as of May 1. Kids 11 and under are free with a paid registration and may participate in the fun run with adult supervision. A family discount is available: register five or more people in a single transaction to receive a $10 per person discount.
Packet pickup will be available Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Fleet Feet Des Peres (11731 Manchester Rd) from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm and on race morning at Queeny Park between 7:00 am and 8:00 am.
Awards are given to the top two male and top two female finishers in the 5K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
