8th Annual Heroes for Autism 5K and 1 Mile

The event takes place on July 18, 2026, at Edgar M. Queeny County Park, 550 Weidman Road, Manchester, MO. It is organized by the Freddie Ford Family Foundation, a nonprofit that supports under-served families impacted by autism and promotes awareness and acceptance.

The event is family friendly and includes music, a bounce house, vendors, and food and drinks available for donations. Participants are invited to wear superhero costumes. The event welcomes walkers and runners of all ages and abilities. Children 11 and under may participate free with a paid registration and must be supervised in the fun run.

Registration fees listed by the organizer include an Early Bird rate of $35 for the 5K and $25 for the Mile, increasing to $45 for the 5K and $35 for the Mile as of May 1. A family discount of $10 per person applies when five or more people register in a single transaction.

Packet pickup is available on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Fleet Feet Des Peres (11731 Manchester Rd) or on race morning at Queeny Park. A course map is forthcoming. Awards are given to the top two male and top two female finishers in the 5K. Funds raised support programs for social skills, health and fitness, and community education.
