Hero Hustle 5K
The Hero Hustle 5K is an annual community run and virtual event held in Maumee that supports education and recognition of organ, eye and tissue donation in northwest Ohio. The event includes in-person and virtual 3.1 mile options, a half-mile kids run for ages 12 and under, and a canine-friendly 3.1 mile option.
Registrants for the 5K Run/Walk and the Virtual Run receive an adult fleece full-zip sweatshirt or a youth fleece 1/4-zip pullover while supplies last. In-person 5K participants present on November 7 may receive a finisher medal while supplies last. Virtual participants may be eligible to request medal pickup after the event if supplies allow; virtual packet pickup or shipping options are offered for race items for an additional fee.
Awards include medals to the top three finishers in 13 age categories for males and females, plus overall and masters awards. Kids and K9 participants receive special giveaways while supplies last. The event notes a hero costume and blue and green attire theme for participants.
Event location is Dana World Headquarters, 3939 Technology Drive, Maumee, OH. Packet pickup is scheduled before race day at Life Connection of Ohio, 480 W. Dussel Drive, Maumee, with drive-through entry on Ford Street. Registration opens 7/1/2026 and closes 11/7/2026. Fees vary by entry type.
