About the Event

The Hermes Dead Sprint is a Halloween-themed running event taking place in Cleveland. The main events are a 5K run and the b.a. Sweetie Candy Company Little Monsters Candy Dash for participants aged 8 and under.

The 5K route begins on Elm Street and passes landmarks such as the old Coast Guard Station, the Ontario Stone building, and the Wendy Park Bridge over the Cuyahoga River. This run is chip-timed using the MyLaps Bib-Tag system. The non-timed Candy Dash is designed for young children.

The event hub and post-race party are located at McCarthy's Downtown on Elm Street. Dogs are allowed at the event but not inside the venue.

Registration and Fees

Registration opens on July 17, 2026. Fees are structured as follows:

5K Run: $35 until October 13, 2026; $40 from October 14 through race day.
Little Monsters Candy Dash (ages 8 & under): $15.

Early packet pickup is available at McCarthy's Downtown on the Thursday before the event.

What Participants Receive

All registered participants receive a long-sleeve race t-shirt and a finisher medal. A commemorative race cup and one Surfside vodka drink are included while supplies last. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
