Heritage Eagles 5K
The Heritage Eagles 5K is an annual community running event held in Littleton, Colorado. This event serves as a fundraiser for the Heritage High School Cross Country Team, with a portion of every registration fee contributing directly to the program. The race utilizes the 5 km Liberty Bell course, an out-and-back route that has been a tradition for high school cross-country in the region for over 45 years.
The course features a mix of neighborhood streets and smooth crushed gravel paths along the High Line Canal. Participants experience an elevation gain of 72 feet and a loss of 128 feet, with the course sitting at an altitude between 5,434 and 5,521 feet. Parking is available on-site at the Heritage High School parking lot.
Registered participants have access to a post-race breakfast featuring pancakes, sausage, and orange juice. Awards are presented to the overall top male and female finishers, as well as to the top three participants in various age categories, ranging from 10 and under to 70 and older. In total, 62 custom die-cast medals are awarded. Race T-shirts are available as an optional purchase during registration.
