About the race
Herd The Curd is an annual road event held at Highland Farm on Labor Day weekend. The event offers both a 5K and a 10K course and welcomes runners, walkers, and virtual participants.
All finishers receive cheese curds and chocolate milk at the finish line. The race presents awards to age-category winners and reports participation from local community members and sponsors.
The event benefits the Michael J. Bryant Memorial Fund, which is managed by the Wayne County Community Foundation and awards grants to Wayne County residents and nonprofit organizations with demonstrated need. Since the race began in 2013, organizers and supporters have raised funds for the memorial fund.
Past editions have included hundreds of participants; the 13th annual race recorded nearly 375 runners and walkers and raised $25,000 for the memorial fund. The organizer lists multiple community sponsors that have supported the event over many years.
