Event overview
The Hendy Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 22 February 2026 in Royal Tunbridge Wells, organised by Tunbridge Wells Harriers. The race is a certified half marathon of 13.1 miles and is run as a single-lap, largely on-road circuit through Southborough, Bidborough, Penshurst, Fordcombe, Langton Green and Tunbridge Wells. The course is undulating and includes a notable 300-foot ascent of Spring Hill at Fordcombe. The event is UKA licensed and enforces a three-hour cut-off for safety and traffic management reasons.
Course, safety and race services
The route uses shared roads with partial traffic management and statutory road closures. Runners must follow the Highway Code, marshal instructions and remain on the left-hand half of the road unless directed otherwise. The race provides water at five stations on the course and at the finish, first aid, accurate chip timing, a supervised baggage drop and on-course and HQ toilet facilities. Pacers are organised for a range of target finish times from 1:30 to 2:50. Wheelchair athletes, dogs, buggies and runners followed by cycles are not permitted.
Entry, prizes and accessibility
Entry fees vary by booking period, with published prices ranging up to around £40 for on-the-day places. Included with entry are a bespoke medal, chip timing and secure baggage. Prizes and trophies are awarded by overall and age categories for men and women, and club team prizes use chip times. A designated quiet zone at Race HQ is available and additional on-course toilets have been added. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
