Event overview
The Hendy Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon takes place on 22 February 2026 in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent. The race is organised by volunteers from Tunbridge Wells Harriers and is a club-run mass-participation half marathon. Distance: 13.1 miles (13 miles 192.5 yards). The course is UKA licensed and has a certificate of accuracy from the Association of UK Course Measurers.
The event has been hosted by Tunbridge Wells Harriers for over 40 years. Over the last ten years the race surplus has donated around £200,000 to local charities and causes. The title sponsor for recent editions is Hendy.
Course, facilities and rules
The route is a one-lap anti-clockwise circuit on road through Southborough, Bidborough, Penshurst, Fordcombe, Langton Green and Tunbridge Wells. The course is undulating and includes a notable 300-foot ascent of Spring Hill at Fordcombe. There are five on-course drink stations plus drinks at the finish, first aid provision, and pacers organised for target times from 1:30 to 2:50 (pace will vary on this hilly course). The race is not suitable for wheelchair athletes; dogs, buggies and escort cycles are not permitted. Headphones are not allowed on single-carriageway open roads except medically prescribed devices; bone-conducting headsets are permitted.
Race-day arrangements include chip timing, a bespoke finisher medal, secure baggage drop at Race HQ, toilets on-course and at HQ, and limited changing rooms (no showers). Numbers are distributed in the week before the race and at Race HQ; the timing chip is on the race number and must be worn on the front of the vest. Traffic management and partial road closures are in place; runners must follow the Highway Code and marshal directions. Results are published promptly after the event.
