HELLS DELLS Ultra Stroll
HELLS DELLS is a single-day, unsupported trail event held at Watson Lake near Prescott. The course is a continuous loop with an added lollipop and totals 30.6 miles with about 3,300 feet of elevation gain and loss. The route contains roughly 29.5 unique miles and includes long stretches of exposed terrain and technical granite sections.
There are two staffed Reaper aid stations located at about mile 10 and mile 20, plus a water drop at mile 25.5 that provides a vault toilet and a water fountain. Aid stations will offer water, sports drink and basic aid station fare. The organizer advises carrying significant fluid and calories and notes that many runners found the marked intersections reliable in past years but that flag tampering has occurred.
Navigation is an important part of this event. The organizer provides a GPS file for the route and recommends downloading the course to a watch or using an offline map app. The course will be marked at intersections with arrows and color coded flags, but participants should be prepared to use their own navigation tools.
Entries are limited; the organizer charges a modest registration fee with most of that fee returned at check-in. Cutoffs are in place for safety: 3 hours to the first aid station at about 10 miles, 6.5 hours to the second station near mile 20, and a race cutoff of 10.5 hours.
