HELLS DELLS 50k Prescott AZ

HELLS DELLS 50k is a single loop trail race that starts and finishes at Watson Lake in Prescott, Arizona. The course travels through the granite Dells and includes long sections of slick rock, many intersecting trails and washes, and extended exposure to sun. Navigation is an important part of the event; participants are expected to be largely self sufficient and to use a GPS device or map overlay for route finding. The organizer provides a GPS file, course markings at Dells intersections, two fully stocked aid stations and one water drop with a vault toilet and fountain.

The route length and climbing are provided for planning. Cutoff times are enforced at the two aid stations and at the finish, and the terrain can slow moving considerably compared with flat 50k courses. Race support is intentionally minimal; runners should carry adequate fluids and calories. Entry is handled through UltraSignup with a small fee that is mostly returned at check in. Finishers receive event tokens and a popsicle; additional small awards are given for top finishers. The course routing includes recent updates to incorporate new Dells trails and the Eagle Peak area.
