Event overview
The GLIRC Heckscher State Park Marathon, Half Marathon & 5K takes place on March 28, 2026 at Heckscher State Park in East Islip, NY. The event offers the following race options:

- Half Marathon
- 5K
All three courses are USATF certified and the marathon is a Boston qualifier. The race course is looped, runs on fully closed park roads, and includes water and nutrition stops along the route. The organizer provides live online, text, and email results and free finish line photos.
Race amenities, awards and registration
Participants receive a long-sleeved shirt and a finisher medal. Additional on-site amenities include light refreshments and All Round Foods after the event, a heated tent, and personalized bibs if registered at least three weeks before the event. The marathon lists a six-hour cutoff.
Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers, top three male and female in age groups 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+, the top male and female masters, and top three male and female age-graded.
Registration fees vary by date and event. Examples listed include approximately $70.03 to $80.38 for the marathon and half marathon and $38.98 to $44.15 for the 5K. GLIRC members, veterans, and seniors are eligible for specified discounts. All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
