Event Overview
The GLIRC Heckscher State Park Marathon takes place on March 28, 2026, in East Islip, New York. The event includes three distinct distances on USATF certified courses:
- Marathon (Boston Qualifier)
- Half Marathon
- 5K Run/Walk
Course Details
The marathon is conducted on a looped course utilizing fully closed park roads within Heckscher State Park. This configuration is intended to facilitate spectating. The course features multiple water and nutrition stops to support participants throughout the event. For the Marathon distance, there is a 6-hour time limit.
Participant Amenities
Registered participants receive a long-sleeved shirt and a finisher medal. To guarantee a shirt, registration must be completed by March 7. Those who register at least three weeks before the event will receive a personalized bib with their name printed on it.
Facilities and Support
The event provides a heated tent and serves light refreshments and food for participants after the race. Digital services include live text and email results, along with free finish line photographs and videos. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as winners in age categories ranging from 15-19 to 80+. Masters and age-graded awards are also distributed.
