Hearty Half Marathon 2026
The event is a road half marathon that starts and finishes on the athletics track near the Clubhouse at FB Fields in St Clement. Runners begin with a single lap anti-clockwise and complete another lap to finish at the same point, about 40 metres from the Clubhouse at the 200 metre mark. The course is on tarmac roads and undulates: it rises after the first mile through country lanes in the north-eastern parishes, descends into Gorey and follows the coast back to the track. The route passes local heritage sites including Hougue Bie, Gorey Castle and several Martello Towers.
Race administration requires that emergency details be written on the rear of the race number and the number be clearly visible on the front. Triathlon race belts and pinning the number to shorts are not permitted. Chip timing is used with manual timekeepers as backup. Results will be checked and published as soon as practicable and communicated to entrants by email and JSAC social channels.
Safety provisions include a minimum of three water stations, ambulance and paramedic cover provided by Normandy Rescue, and a race cut off of three hours at the Race Director's discretion. Runners are advised to hydrate before and during the event and to stop if breathing, heart rate or temperature feel abnormal. Only bone conduction listening devices may be used; other listening devices may lead to removal from the race and no result. Pavement use is not normal but is permitted in exception on the coast road when traffic is busy; pedestrians should be respectfully shared. Participants must be aged 17 or over on race day.
Each finisher receives a bespoke medal and entrants may purchase a technical T shirt if ordered before the T shirt deadline of 5pm Friday 7th August 2025. Entry fees vary by date and affiliation with early bird, standard and late rates; the entry deadline is Wednesday 2nd September at 12.00 UK time.
