Event Overview
The Hearts and Hands 4 Paws 5k is a fundraising event benefiting Hearts and Hands 4 Paws, an organization that provides support to help animals remain in their homes, reduces animal overpopulation, and aids animal welfare organizations. Funds from the event help pay for veterinary care and spay/neuter services. The 2024 event reportedly helped fund 402 spay/neuters and provided veterinary assistance for 359 animals.

Course Details
The course is a flat, 3.1-mile loop. It starts and ends at Muskingum Park in Marietta, Ohio. The route travels along Front Street to Indian Acres Park and returns via the bike path in Marietta.
Awards
Awards are given for male and female overall winners, as well as for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in numerous age categories spanning from under 12 to over 80. These awards apply to the 5k run, walk, run with dog, and walk with dog events. The awards ceremony takes place at the conclusion of the event.
