The Heart of Cool Trail Run takes place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in Cool, California. The event offers three trail distances:

- 10k Run/Walk
- Trail Half Marathon

Proceeds support youth programs in the Black Oak Mines Unified School District and provide a scholarship for a child to attend Camp Taylor, a camp for youth with heart disease. The race is cup free; participants should bring a refillable cup or water bottle for aid station refills. A family discount package is offered for immediate family members for the 5k and 10k distances. Child care is available for children ages 3 and up for a fee of $8 per child. There will be a post-race pancake breakfast. Course maps are provided for each distance on mapping platforms including Google Maps, Strava, and Garmin.
