Heart of Cool Trail Run
The Heart of Cool Trail Run takes place on Saturday October 17, 2026, in Cool, California, at Northside STEAM School, 860 Cave Valley Rd., Cool, CA 95614. The event offers multiple trail distances that start and finish at the same general location.

Net proceeds support programs funded through Georgetown Divide Ready by 21, Inc. (GDRB21). A portion of funds will be used to provide a scholarship for a child to attend Camp Taylor, a camp for youth with heart disease.
Organizers report 55 shirts available for registrants, with some sizes already sold out. All half marathon participants receive a custom Heart of Cool pair of socks. The event is described as family friendly and includes a family discount package for immediate family members for the 5k and 10k. Child care is available for children ages 3 and up for a fee of $8 per child. A post-race pancake breakfast is planned.
The course follows trails around Cool and the Sierra Foothills and uses the same trail corridors as Western States 100 Mile, Way Too Cool 50k, and Rio Del Lago 100 Mile. To reduce waste, the race is cup free; runners should bring a refillable cup or bottle for aid stations. Packet and bib pick up occur on race day.
