Heart Diggity Dog 5K
The Heart Diggity Dog 5K is a community running and walking event in Detroit on October 3, 2026. It is organized by the Detroit Police Department and the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan. The course begins at Brush Mall next to RIM and the DMC Heart Hospital at 311 Mack Ave, between Beaubien and John R. The route heads down Brush to Comerica Park, loops through the neighborhood and returns to Midtown.
There are two registration options: human plus dog and human only. Both options cover the same 5K (3.1 miles) distance and have a registration fee of $40. Registration opens June 30, 2026 and closes September 19, 2026.
Participants receive a t shirt and a custom medal. Dogs receive a foldable water tray while supplies last. Free parking will be available in the South Deck structure at 311 Mack Ave.
