Healthy Mommy 5K and 10K
The Healthy Mommy running event takes place at Grayson County Middle School in Leitchfield, Kentucky. This event serves to honor the memory of Kristy Elmore Langdon and aims to raise awareness regarding maternal mental health issues. All proceeds from the event are directed to the Maternal Mental Health Foundation Inc.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 10 km road race
- 5 km road race
- 200 yards Kiddie Dash
The course for the 5 km and 10 km races is situated on open roads and is classified as fast and flat. Water stations are positioned at every mile along the route. The 5 km event is noted as being stroller and child friendly.
The Kiddie Dash is a non-competitive run held on grass or dirt surfaces. It is open to children aged 0-10 years who are able to walk or toddle. While the 10-yard dash is free to enter, it does not include a participant shirt.
Registration for the longer distances includes a race day t-shirt, with sizes guaranteed for those who register by mid-May. Professional chip timing is provided by Central Kentucky Race Management. Special awards are presented to the top male and female finishers overall, as well as the top finishers in age categories ranging from under 10 to 70 and over.
