About the race
The Headwall Hustle is a 15 km trail race held in Fernie, BC as part of the Elk Valley Ultra event on July 25, 2027. The route runs through Fernie Alpine Resort, climbing through Timber Bowl up to the Headwall before traversing into Currie Bowl for a steep descent to the finish line.

The 15 km field is limited to 200 racers. Categories include Male, Female and Non-Binary, with age divisions for under 19, 19–49, and 50+. Entry fees vary by age and registration period: adult early bird and regular pricing, youth early bird and regular pricing, and combo pricing available for participants also entered in the Elk Valley Ultra. Registration opens November 1, 2026.
All racers must complete the online RCR Event Waiver before completing event registration and must have their RCR Event Release Agreement ID available for checkout. Names used on the waiver must match the ultrasignup account. Entries may be transferred via the Race Director if a participant cannot race.
Included race amenities note a swag bag with a Stag Leap sticker and technical socks, a finish line brunch buffet, trophies by category, free racer photography downloads, and a fully stocked aid station.
