26th Annual Headingley Fire Department RUN/HFD - May 23, 2026
The Headingley Fire Department event takes place at 126 Bridge Road in Headingley, Manitoba. The scenic route crosses and follows the Assiniboine River and goes through residential streets of South Headingley. The race begins and finishes at the Headingley Fire Department.
Offered distances:
- 5 km run (chip timed)
- 3 km run / walk
- Youth 5 km run for competitors born in 2008 or later
The 5 km is part of the Manitoba Runners Association Classic Race Series. The day includes a post-race awards ceremony and more than 50 post-race prize draws. Youth awards are presented to the top three finishers in boys and girls divisions for Grades 3–12.
Charity partners include the Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation and the True North Youth Foundation. Through the partnership with True North Youth Foundation, the event supports recreation opportunities in Westgrove and has committed over 60 week-long summer camp spaces for children and youth.
Race-day family activities include an on-site DJ, a Fire and Life Safety trailer, multiple bouncy castles, a photo booth, mascot appearances, and hot dogs and refreshments. Race kits are available for pickup Friday, May 22 from 5:00–8:00 PM at City Park Runners, 2091 Portage Ave, and are also available on race day. Each kit includes a race t-shirt, race program, custom bib, raffle number, coupons, and chip timing.
Important dates: price increases on April 8 and April 22, final price increase and program and t-shirt size deadline on May 1, final day to register May 16, and race kit pick-up May 22. Registrations received after May 1 may not be included in the race program or receive preferred t-shirt sizes. No refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
