Head for the Cure 5K - Detroit
The Detroit event is the 13th annual Head for the Cure 5K, held on August 16, 2026 at Belle Isle, 99 Pleasure Drive, Detroit, MI 48207. The event is organized as a 5K run/walk and includes community-focused activities such as a kids fun run, a brain tumor survivor photo, and several recognition ceremonies.
Funds raised through the event will locally benefit the Henry Ford Hermelin Brain Tumor Center and Path to Hope, as well as other national brain cancer programs, education, and initiatives. The event page provides a course map and a parking map for participants.
Entry to Belle Isle requires a Michigan Recreation Passport or payment of a $15 per-car fee for nonpassport holders. Packet pickup is scheduled on Friday, August 14 at IBEW Local Union 58 to allow participants to collect race materials ahead of race day.
