Head for the Cure 5K - Detroit
The Head for the Cure 5K in Detroit is a community 5K run/walk held on August 16, 2026 at Belle Isle, 99 Pleasure Drive, Detroit, MI 48207. This is the 13th annual Detroit event presented by the Head for the Cure Foundation.
Proceeds from the event will locally benefit the Henry Ford Hermelin Brain Tumor Center, Path to Hope, and other national brain cancer programs, education, and initiatives. The event program on race day includes a Kids Fun Run 100 meter dash, a brain tumor survivor photo, and special recognitions such as Legacy of Love for caregivers, Healthcare Hero for health professionals, Keeping the Faith for survivors, and Legacy of Hope memorials.
Entry to Belle Isle requires a Michigan Recreation Passport or a $15 per car fee for parking. Course and parking maps are provided by the organizers. Packet pick up is offered before race day at local locations, including Fleet Feet Northville and IBEW Local Union 58 on August 14 and August 15. A Team Captain Kit is available to help teams organize and fundraise.
