Event Overview
The Hayward Musky-Fest is a running event held in Hayward, Wisconsin. It is part of the 76th annual Musky Festival, which is described as Hayward's largest community festival celebrating the Northwoods and a fishing tradition.
Distances
The event features two main running distances:
- 5K (run/walk)
- 10K (run)
A free Minnow Run for children 12 years and under is also held on Main Street and 3rd Street, starting after the main races.
Registration and Details
Registration includes a Musky Walk/Run T-shirt. Early bird registration is $35 and ends on May 29, 2026. The regular registration fee is $40. Race day registration is available for $40 but closes before the start. All registrations are noted as non-refundable and non-transferable.
Packet pickup is scheduled on Main Street in downtown Hayward on the Saturday before the race. There is also packet pickup on race morning before registration closes.
Awards
An awards ceremony is held after the race. Prizes are awarded to the top male and top female finishers in each division, as well as for various age groups. Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
