Hawthorn Hustle 5K
The Hawthorn Hustle is the 11th annual community fundraiser organized by the Hawthorn PTO. It takes place on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at Century Park North, 1401 Indianwood Drive, Vernon Hills, with an inclement weather date of August 30. The event supports Hawthorn PTO and Hawthorn District 73 schools.
The event program includes a timed 5K around Big Bear and Little Bear Lakes in Century Park and a one mile Fun Run. The Fun Run is not timed, allows walking and strollers at no stroller fee, and every registered participant receives a short sleeve T-shirt. The timed 5K is open to all ages.
Registration fees vary by category and date. Early bird 5K registration through July 31 is $35; on or after August 1 the 5K fee is $45. The Fun Run fee is $30. School or student run clubs and Hawthorn staff fee is $28. There is a $150 maximum per family. Short sleeve T-shirts are included for registered participants; XXL and XXXL sizes incur an additional $4 charge. Packet pick up is scheduled on Wednesday, August 19 at Yard House Vernon Hills, and packets are also available on race day.
