Hawthorn Hustle
The Hawthorn Hustle is a community running and walking event held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Century Park North, 1401 Indianwood Drive, Vernon Hills, IL. The event is organized by the Hawthorn PTO and community and is listed as the 11th annual edition. An inclement weather date is scheduled for August 30, 2026.
The event offers the following distances:

- 1 Mile walk/stroll
Race day registration and packet pickup are available on site. The 5K results are reported by age and grade level with separate male and female categories: Kindergarten - 2nd grade, 3rd - 5th grade, 6th - 8th grade, and Adult. Hawthorn District 73 serves six elementary schools, a kindergarten center, two middle schools and an early childhood school in the Vernon Hills area. Funds raised in previous years supported books, educational materials and technology for district schools, and the PTO plans to allocate future proceeds toward additional technology and educational resources.
