Hawkins Hustle
Hawkins Hustle is a community running event in memory of Coach Vern Hawkins. Proceeds support the Coach Hawkins Scholarship Fund, which awards monetary scholarships to graduating Georgetown High School seniors who competed in cross country and/or track and field. Scholarship recipients are selected by a committee of the coach's former athletes.
The event is scheduled for August 8, 2026 at the Brown County Fairgrounds, 325 West State Street, Georgetown, Ohio 45121.
Distances offered:
- 5K run/walk
- 0.25 miles Kids Fun Run (ages 10 and under, no race shirt)
- Virtual option with no specified distance
Registration opens June 5, 2026 and closes August 7, 2026. Published registration fees are $25 for the 5K, $10 for the Kids Fun Run, and $25 for the virtual option. Race shirts are guaranteed for those who register by August 1, 2026; shirts are in limited supply on race day and may not be available to those who do not pre-register.
Race categories include male and female and entries may be recorded as run or walk. Age groups span 10 and under, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Sponsorship opportunities are available at multiple levels from $50 to $1,000; sponsors who commit at $100 or more by July 15, 2026 will be included on the 2026 race shirts.
