Hawk Hundred
The Hawk Hundred is a trail race hosted by the Lawrence Trail Hawks at Clinton State Park near Lawrence, KS. The event offers multiple distances on a 25-mile loop that uses the park's technical, rolling trails. Marathon runners complete an additional 1.2 miles on the Nature Center Trail before beginning the loop.
Distances
- 100 miles
- 50 miles
- Marathon (26.2 miles)
The Big Loop is 25 miles; marathoners run the 1.2 mile lead-in then the loop. Hundred-mile competitors complete the Big Loop multiple times to reach 100 miles, and 50-mile runners complete the loop twice. Trail navigation relies on blue and white blazes, signs, flags, and ribbons; crossings are heavily marked but it is each runner's responsibility to follow the markers.
The race operates three staffed aid stations that provide Tailwind and Honey Stinger products plus a mix of vegan, vegetarian, and omnivore options and overnight hot food. Aid station locations on the 25-mile loop include Lands End, West Park Road, and the Start/Finish; some stations allow crew access and drop bags at specific miles. The event uses chip timing and live updates on race day.
There are defined cutoffs at specific aid stations and guidelines for dropping distances on race day. The race does not offer refunds; deferral options and registration change deadlines are specified in the event policies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
