Haunted Halfie
The Haunted Halfie is a Halloween themed race weekend in Rochester, Minn. on October 31 hosted by the local team behind the Med City Marathon. Events take place at Rochester Community and Technical College with pre and post race activities held inside the RCTC field house.
Event distances include:
- Half marathon
- Team half relay
- 5K
- Little Monsters 1K
The course is newly USATF certified and the half marathon is chip timed. The weekend features Halloween themed cheer zones, costume contests, music and DJs, paced groups presented by Mythical Mile Coaching, and water stations with water and sports drink. Finishers receive event gear including a crewneck sweater, custom finisher medal, canvas tote, neck buff, and a ceramic finisher mug; finish line offerings include a hot drink mug with complimentary hot cocoa or apple cider and finish line snacks. Post-race activities include local vendors, pumpkin carving, and photo opportunities.
The event partners with local nonprofits and community groups. A portion of registration proceeds supports Aidan’s Light and local mental health resources. Volunteer roles are part of the event operations and volunteers receive a Haunted Halfie volunteer hoodie. Parking is available in the large free lots surrounding RCTC.
