About the race
Hässelbyloppet is a measured 10 000 m road race held in Hässelby, northwestern Stockholm. The course runs on park roads through Hässelby, Grimsta, Råcksta and Vällingby and is described as flat. The surface is mainly asphalt, with a grass start area and an all‑weather track in the finish area.
The race has two drink stations along the route. The event is sanctioned by the Swedish Athletics Federation and the 10 000 m distance was control‑measured in summer 2024 by an approved course measurer. The main race is run in separate women and men classes. Minimum age for the 10 km is 14 years (born 2012 or earlier); a youth entry fee applies for ages 14–18.
There is an accompanying children’s race called Lilla Hässelbyloppet for ages 5–13. Timing is used for all participants and the maximum allowed time on the course is two hours. Organisers provide pacemakers at a range of target times and runners are assigned to start groups on race day to help the event flow. The competition centre is Hässelby Idrottsplats; the start is on a grass field about 400 m from the stadium and the finish is at Hässelby IP.
