Harting Multi-Terrain '10'
The Harting Multi-Terrain 10 miles is a club-organised multi-terrain race held on the War Memorial Sports Ground, Petersfield Road, South Harting, W Sussex. The event is run by Liss Runners and takes place on a route through the South Downs National Park.
The course covers private lanes, gravel tracks, bridleways and footpaths. There are mile markers and two water stations on the route. Entrants should be capable of completing the course within two hours 15 minutes; runners behind schedule at the second water station (6.5 miles) may be asked to withdraw and returned to the finish by car. Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day. No running with dogs, buggies or headphones is permitted.
All finishers receive a unique medal and are eligible for spot prizes, including a chance to win one of two pairs of Hoka trainers donated by sponsors. Trophies and cash prizes are awarded to 1st to 3rd male and female and to 1st male and female in vets categories V40, V50, V60 and V70. The race supports the local hospice-at-home charity The Rosemary Foundation.
Facilities at race headquarters include free parking on the sports field, portable toilets and supervised baggage storage. Teas, cold drinks and home-made cakes are served from the pavilion. A free kids fun run for ages 4 to 14 is organised on the sports field with medals for all participants. Entry fees are non-refundable but transferable up to midnight on the Friday before the event.
