Harry's Longest Mile 2027 : Kilmore, VIC
Harry's Longest Mile is a last one standing running event held at Kilmore Racing Club, an 800 m harness racing oval with a compact sand and dirt surface about 55 minutes north of Melbourne. Competitors run repeated 1-mile loops; each round has a cutoff that drops by 10 seconds. If a runner does not finish the mile before the cutoff, they are eliminated. Runners can also be eliminated for failing to complete the mile or voluntarily withdrawing.
The event fields up to 1,000 athletes and offers a total prize purse of $12,000 AUD, including $5,000 for the last male standing, $5,000 for the last female standing, and $1,000 awards for the fastest single mile in each gender category. Every round is livestreamed with commentary and manual timing is used; a siren or whistle signals the cutoff. The venue provides free parking, a full bar and restaurant, indoor and outdoor viewing, toilets, and on-site camping sold per car with toilets and showers and no power or open fires. The minimum participant age is 16 years. Entries are non-refundable; a payment plan and fee and transfer options are described by the organiser. The event runs in all weather.
