Harmon Field Half Marathon & Morris Fun Run
The Harmon Field Half Marathon & Morris Fun Run is an inaugural running event set for April 24, 2027, at Harmon Field in Tryon, North Carolina. The event takes place at 117 Harmon Field Road and includes a longer race and a shorter fun run suitable for families.
The half marathon is a scenic out and back covering 13.1 miles through the Hunting Country of Polk County. The course has been used by runners for many years and follows local roads and landscapes around Harmon Field. The half marathon includes a four-hour cut-off.
The Morris Fun Run covers 1.68 miles across Harmon Field and is presented as a shorter option aimed at kids and families. Morris is a locally known Tryon horse sculpture located downtown at Trade Street and Pacolet Street.
Proceeds from the event will support Harmon Field special projects. The event notes that Harmon Field was damaged by Hurricane Helene in 2024 and has since been repaired and reopened. Race awards are planned by overall and masters winners and by age divisions, with top three placements in multiple age groups from youth through 80 and over. T-shirt registration closes March 31st.
