Event Overview
The Hardman Long 2026 is a long distance triathlon scheduled for late August in County Kerry, Ireland. The event features a course that traverses the natural landscapes of the Wild Atlantic Way and Killarney National Park. Participants can enter as individuals or as part of a relay team.
This competition consists of three distinct segments:
- Swim: An open water swim held in the Lakes of Killarney.
- Cycle: A bike leg covering the full length of the Ring of Kerry.
- Run: A full marathon distance run located within Killarney National Park.
Requirements and Logistics
The swim portion takes place in a lake and requires participants to have prior open water experience. In accordance with safety regulations, athletes must wear an appropriate wetsuit during the swim and a hard shell helmet during the cycling segment. Participants must be at least 18 years of age.
The event organizers follow a green policy to reduce environmental impact. Participation t-shirts are an optional addition to the registration, while all finishers receive a medal. The event has transitioned away from single-use plastics for hydration.

Registration is open to individuals and relay teams. Participants must provide a Triathlon Ireland membership number or obtain a One Day Membership Licence to take part. The registration fee is subject to a booking fee, and a refund or deferral policy is available for those who withdraw before mid-July.
