The Hard Times Trail Run takes place at Little Sac Woods Conservation Area East Parking Lot near Willard, MO. Distances offered:
- 50K
- 25K
- 8 Miler
The 8 mile course is a lollipop-style route with almost 1,000 feet of elevation gain. The course includes runnable sections, downhills, climbs, small creek crossings, briars, and many hills; it does not include switchbacks. The 25K and 50K distances are run as laps, alternating direction on each lap. The event is limited to 60 runners. Two aid stations are provided: Start/Finish and the halfway point (about 4 miles). Drop bags are allowed for 25K and 50K runners; personal belongings can be left at the Start/Finish. Porta-potties will be on site.
Logistics and policies
On-site parking is reserved for 50K runners only; other runners use parking at Noble Hill Baptist Church and a shuttle van. Dogs are allowed on leash; cats are not allowed. Trail shoes and bug spray are recommended. Trekking poles are allowed. All runners receive a shirt and a finisher award; 50K runners receive additional items. Special prizes are awarded to first place overall male and female finishers in each distance. There are no refunds. Proceeds support Headington Hill Classical Academy, a 501c3 organization.
