Happy's 5000 and Beer Mile : Baton Rouge
The event organized by the Happy's Running Club raises funds for Keep Tiger Town Beautiful and takes place on 18 July 2026 at Town Square, 222 North Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70801. The program includes a 5K called Happy's 5000, a Beer Mile with a competitive heat and a non competitive costume heat, and a costume contest. Southern food and beverages will be available.

Registration opens 28 March 2026 and registration closes 13 July 2026. Pricing varies by HRC membership and by early versus regular registration. Packet pickup is to be announced. The first 250 5K registrants receive a BAW tank top. Saucony sponsors prizes for top finishers including shoes for the top three male and top three female finishers and Yeti cups for places four through ten. Additional age category prizes and beer mile and costume contest awards are listed.
Safety and race rules prohibit baby joggers or strollers, dogs, and participants with leg or foot casts. Beer mile rules require drinking four beers and running four laps with consumption inside a transition area, vessels not opened before entering the transition area, empty vessels tipped over the participant head, and a penalty lap for any competitor who vomits before finishing.
