Happy's 5000 and Beer Mile
Happy's Running Club presents Happy's 5000 and Beer Mile in Town Square, Baton Rouge, on 18 July 2026. The event raises funds for Keep Tiger Town Beautiful and combines a community 5K with a beer mile that includes a costume contest.

- 3.1 Miles - Happy's 5000 (5K)
- 1 Mile - Beer Mile with competitive and non competitive heats and costume contest
The first 250 people who register for the 5000 receive a BAW tank top. Prizes are awarded to the top ten male and top ten female 5K finishers, overall male and female winners, top finishers in the over 70 and over 80 age groups, top male and top female beer mile competitive runners, and winners in the individual and group costume contests in the non competitive heat. Packet pickup is to be announced.
Registration opens 28 March 2026 and includes early and regular pricing with separate options for HRC members and non members. Fees vary by entry type and registration period.
Race rules include safety and eligibility restrictions: no baby joggers or strollers, no dogs in the race or start and finish area, and no participants with leg or foot casts. Beer mile rules require four beers and four laps, consumption in a designated transition area, unopened vessels until the transition zone, a penalty lap for vomiting, and tipping the empty vessel over the participant head after each chug. Two beer mile heats are scheduled: a competitive heat and a non competitive costumed heat. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
