Event Overview
The Happy Father's Day event takes place in Long Beach, California. It offers participants a choice of distances: 5k, 10k, 15k, and half marathon. The event is held on a Sunday in June.
Course Information
The course is an open, out-and-back route on the Long Beach beach path. Participants are reminded to be courteous to others using the path, including pedestrians and cyclists. The path is marked, and loops are repeated to achieve the different distances.
Specific loop details are provided:
- The 5k is an out-and-back loop.
- The 10k consists of two 5k loops.
- The 15k consists of three 5k loops.
- The half marathon consists of three 4.36-mile loops.
An aid station is located at the start/finish and turnaround point, offering water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu energy gels. There is a 3 hour, 15 minute time limit for the half marathon distance.
Registration and Logistics
Registration includes a custom finisher medal, a drawstring goodie bag, free event photos and videos, and an assortment of snacks and samples. Race results are posted online within 12 to 24 hours after the event.
Bib pick-up begins at 7:00 AM. The event is held at the start of the beach path near 54th Place and Ocean Boulevard in Belmont Shores. Parking is available for free in the residential area; a nearby beach parking lot requires paid tickets from a machine.
Group discounts are available for five or more people. Race entries can be transferred to another date or participant by request, but the policy states there are no refunds. Volunteers can receive a free race entry.
