Hancock4Kids Superhero 5K, Kids' Dash, and Hero Dash
The Hancock4Kids event is a community running and family activity day held at the Hancock County Courthouse Plaza & Pennsy Trail in Greenfield, Indiana. The program includes multiple short dashes for children, a chip-timed 5K race for adults and youth, and a Hero Dash featuring first responders. This year is the tenth annual Hancock4Kids event and the third annual Hero Dash.
Event distances include:
- 100 m Kids' Dash for age 5 and under
- 150 m Kids' Dash for children up to age 10
- 5K adult entry
- 5K youth entry for grade 12 and under
- 5K Community Hero entry for qualifying community workers
- 100 m Hero Dash for first responders
Registration opens March 20. Registration fees and conditions noted by the organizer include a $35 adult fee, $25 youth fee, and free registration for certain community heroes and for the kids dashes. Several 5K entries are chip timed. Participants receive a commemorative medal; an event T-shirt is included with registrations submitted by May 24. The Hero Dash is presented as an opportunity for children to see first responders in uniform in a neutral setting; the Hero Dash winner receives a trophy.
