About the race
The hella hamburg half marathon is a major road race in Germany, recognized with the WORLD ATHLETICS Road Race Label. This city race is an officially measured point-to-point course of 21.0975 km. The route is primarily flat and paved, passing approximately 50 landmarks and tourist attractions. The event also includes a separate competition for children.

The half marathon starts at the Reeperbahn and concludes at the Expo Hamburg. Along the course, participants are supported by over 40 artists, musicians, DJs, and cheering crews, including samba drum groups. There are seven refreshment points providing water along the route, with additional nutrition such as fruit and various drinks available in the finish area.
Participation in the main race is open to individuals born in 2010 and earlier, with no club affiliation required. Timekeeping is managed via a transponder attached to the back of the race bib. Facilities at the finish area include clothing bag storage, showers, and changing rooms. The finish area remains open until 1:40 p.m., allowing a maximum running time of 3 hours and 30 minutes.
