Halloween Hustle 5K | 8K | Fun Run
The Halloween Hustle is a themed running event held at Lake St Clair Metropark with the Thomas Welch Activity Center serving as the event hub. The event offers in-person and virtual options and presents multiple distances for participants of different ages.

- 5K Run/Walk
- Fun Run (approximately 0.5 mile)
- Virtual 5K
- Virtual 8K
Packet pick-up is available early at Hanson's Running Shop on October 22. On race day there is on-site registration and packet pick-up at the Thomas Welch Activity Center. Virtual entries include packet mailing, with packets mailed close to the event subject to shirt and medal arrival.
All participants receive a long sleeve sublimated tech shirt and a glow in the dark finisher medal. The event uses chip timing and provides photos and after-race refreshments. Awards are given to top male and female finishers in each age group: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus.
A costume contest is part of the event with categories such as Most Creative (two divisions), Best Crazy Hair, and Best Group. Friendly dogs and strollers are welcome. The event lists Maggie's Wigs for Kids as a charity partner and offers a group discount for families or groups of four or more. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
