Halloween Hobble

Halloween Hobble is a themed running event held at Wodson Park Sports and Leisure Centre in Ware, Hertfordshire. Races take place on a traffic free 400 m athletics track where distance is recorded by counted laps, so route navigation occurs by lap counting rather than map finding. An aid station is available next to the track and runners can see their supporters each lap.

The event offers a mix of measured distance entries and time based challenges. Race timing is chip based and the event holds an ARC licence. Onsite facilities include free parking, toilets, showers and changing areas close to the track. Race photos will be available and music is planned throughout the day. Tea, coffee and cake are provided free for runners.

Race rules ask that overtaking is on the right and that walkers use the outer lanes to allow varying speeds to coexist on the track. As darkness approaches runners are required to wear a head torch because the track lights will be switched off for atmospheric effect. Distance is counted strictly by laps multiplied by 400 m so watch distances may differ from official totals.
