About the race
The Halloween Hobble is a track-based event at Wodson Park Sports and Leisure Centre in Ware, Hertfordshire. It is held on a traffic-free 400 m athletics track and offers a range of entry options from short distances to extended time-based challenges. An aid station is available beside the track and laps are counted to determine official distance.
Distances and formats include:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon
- Full marathon
- Ultra / track marathon
- 50 miles
- 6 hour event
- 12 hour event
Facilities and services on site include free parking, toilets, showers and changing rooms close to the track. The event is chip timed and operates under an ARC licence. Race photos are taken and music is played during the day. Runners who select the option receive a bespoke medal. Tea, coffee and cake are provided free for runners. Supporters can see participants each lap.
Event procedure and safety notes: overtaking is on the right and those who walk are asked to use outer lanes so faster runners can pass. As dusk approaches, track lighting will be turned off and runners are required to wear a head torch. Distance is recorded by counting laps multiplied by 400 m.
