Halloween Hobble
Halloween Hobble is a track-based running event held at Wodson Park Sports Centre in Ware, Hertfordshire. The event takes place on a traffic-free 400m athletics track with lap counting used to determine distance; watch distance may vary by lane.
Options range from short road-style distances to time-based challenges. Distances and formats include:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon
- Full marathon
- Ultra marathon
- 50 miles
- 6 hour event
- 12 hour event
An aid station is positioned next to the track and is available each lap. The event is chip timed and holds an ARC licence. On-site facilities include toilets, showers and changing rooms close to the track, plus free parking. Race photos will be taken and runners are offered tea, coffee and cake at no extra cost.
Race etiquette asks faster runners to overtake on the right and recommends that walkers use the outer lanes to reduce interference. As dusk approaches, participants are required to wear a head torch and track lights will be switched off to create a Halloween atmosphere. Custom medals are available when selected.
