Halloween Hobble
Halloween Hobble is a track-based running event held at Wodson Park Sports Centre, Ware, Hertfordshire, SG12 0UQ. Races take place on a traffic-free 400 m athletics track; distance is counted by completed laps so recorded distance depends on laps completed rather than GPS watch readings.
Available formats include a range of distances and time-based challenges:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon
- Full marathon
- Ultra
- 50 miles
- 6 hour event
- 12 hour event
An aid station is located next to the track and is available each lap. The event is chip timed and holds an ARC licence. Onsite facilities include toilets, showers and changing rooms, free parking, race photos, and music during the day. Runners selecting a medal will receive a bespoke event medal.
Race etiquette specifies overtaking on the right and that walkers should use the outer lanes. As dusk approaches the track lights will be turned off and runners are required to wear a head torch. The event operates cutoffs for longer efforts, including a 12 hour cutoff and a 6 hour cutoff for shorter choices. Participants must collect their race number and receive a race briefing before starting. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
