Race Overview
US Road Running organizes this event held at the Appomattox River Greenway Roslyn Landing Access in Colonial Heights, Virginia. The race features three different distances on an out-and-back course. All participants must register through the RunSignup platform prior to the event, as there is no registration available on-site. Packet pickup begins 30 minutes before the official start and concludes 10 minutes prior to departure.
Course details
The competition is conducted on an out-and-back route along the Appomattox River Greenway. The number of laps completed depends on the chosen distance:
- 5K: Participants complete the out-and-back course one time.
- 10K: Participants complete the out-and-back course two times.
- 13.1 Miles: Participants complete the out-and-back course four times.
A course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes is in place for all event distances. Parking is available at the Appomattox River Greenway Roslyn Landing, though the number of spaces is limited.
Awards and Recognition
All participants who cross the finish line receive a finisher medal. While not mandatory, runners have the opportunity to participate in a best costume competition, with a group photo taken at the beginning of the event. Winners of the costume contest are announced before the race starts. This event is also part of the US Road Running race series, allowing participants to earn points toward series standings.
