Hagg Lake Triathlon & Trail Festival
The Hagg Lake Triathlon & Trail Festival is a two-day multisport event held June 20-21, 2026 at Henry Hagg Lake, Bobcat Cove, Gaston, OR. The festival has operated for multiple decades and offers a variety of road and off-road multisport and trail races.
Event distances and formats include:
- Olympic Triathlon: 1500m swim, 20 mile bike, 10K run
- Olympic Duathlon: 5K run, 20 mile bike, 10K run
- Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 10 mile bike, 5K run
- Sprint Duathlon: 5K run, 10 mile bike, 5K run
- Olympic and Sprint AquaBike: swim plus bike distances above
- OFF-ROAD Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 14 mile bike, 5K run
- OFF-ROAD Sprint Duathlon and AquaBike with 14 mile bike
- Paddle Triathlon and Half Marathon Trail Run
- 5K Trail Run Relay entries are available and a two-day participation award is offered for athletes who race both days.
Practical information includes onsite tent camping with fees ($15 one night, $25 two nights) and camping rules such as packing out garbage, no open flames except park barbecues, no lake use between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., and limits on amplified sound. Parking requires a day-access pass; athletes typically receive a parking pass with packet pickup. Packet pickup requires photo ID and USAT membership card if applicable; picking up packets for others requires authorization and ID.
The event follows USAT rules. Helmets are required on the bike and personal music devices are prohibited on the bike. Aid stations are approximately every 2 miles on run courses and porta-potties are provided at start/finish and along the run course. Basic on-site bike mechanical support is available. Awards are presented to top overall and age-group finishers, with specific divisions for Clydesdale and Athena and a non-competitive Friends and Family division.
