GYO Freedom Fun Run 5K
The GYO Freedom Fun Run 5K is an annual community event held in Gentry, Arkansas. Organized by the Gentry Youth Organization, the race takes place on July 4th at the Gentry Sports Complex. The event is scheduled to coincide with the local Freedom Fest celebrations, providing participants with the opportunity to transition into the festival activities after the completion of the race.
The course is routed through downtown Gentry, offering runners a path through the heart of the community. There are two primary distances available for participants:
- 5K Run (All ages)
- 1 Mile Youth Fun Run (Ages 12 and under)
Registration for both distances is open to the public without specific qualification requirements. Participants who complete their registration by June 1st receive a commemorative t-shirt.
Upon crossing the finish line, every runner receives a medal and a sparkler. Performance awards are presented to the first, second, and third-place male and female winners, who receive a firework package. Proceeds from the registration fees support the Gentry Youth Organization and its mission to provide local sports opportunities that promote sportsmanship and dedication for the community's youth.
