Gwynn's Island Raw Bar Run
The Gwynn's Island Raw Bar Run is an annual road running event reaching its 12th year. Located at Callis Wharf on Gwynn's Island, the course features a scenic route along the shoreline of the Piankatank River and Milford Haven. Participants navigate a road course that includes views of the Island bridge, the local marina, and various wharfs.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5 km (3.1 miles)
- 1 mile (Spat Run for family members of participants)
The 5 km road run starts and ends on Callis Wharf Road. The course is open to runners of different ages, with specific age brackets for those under 40, between 40-59, and 60 and older. Awards are presented to the first, second, and third-place male and female finishers in each of these three age categories.
The event includes a post-race celebration at the waterfront featuring live music and a raw bar. Participants receive a packet containing a wristband for the raw bar, a magnet, stickers, and a gift voucher for a local food truck. Runners aged 21 and over also receive a beer ticket. Strollers and pets are permitted on the course. Parking at the venue is limited, and runners are issued a parking pass to access the site.
