Guyandotte River Run
The Guyandotte River Run takes place in Hanover, West Virginia, and offers three distinct distances for participants:
- Half marathon
- 10k
- 5k
The course follows a mostly flat, paved rail trail, which is designed to be accessible for first-time participants. A notable feature for those participating in the 10k and Half marathon events is a passage through an old railroad tunnel located along the route.
All participants receive professional race timing provided by AP Timing Group. Runners and walkers are provided with a custom tumbler as part of their registration, subject to order deadlines. After crossing the finish line, participants can find snacks and a community celebration at the conclusion of the event. The race is scheduled for the transition into the spring season and serves as an opportunity for the local community to gather and support outdoor activity.
The event starts and finishes at 15205 R.D Bailey Hwy in Hanover. Registration typically remains open until the day before the event, though specific items like the custom tumbler have earlier cut-off dates for orders. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
