Gruesome Twosome 22K, 11K, 5K & 1K
Hosted by Run Like A Girl Adventures Inc. at Aldergrove Regional Park (27240 8 Ave, Aldergrove BC). The event supports BabyGoRound and each registration includes a CA$5.00 donation to that organization.
Distances offered:
- 22 km double-loop course based on the 11 km route.
- 11 km mixed route on wide, undulating trails.
- 5 km mainly flat packed trails with a few short hills.
- 1.1 km Fun Run on non-technical park paths for all ages.
All participants receive a finisher medal and an event bib. Registration also includes a smoothie or smoothie bowl from Stormy's Smoothie Truck at the finish, finish-line food, and access to aid stations. Timing is provided via a timing app rather than chip timing. The event has a participant cap of 280.
Course and logistics details: wide hard-packed dirt and gravel trails through meadows, mixed forest and wetlands that provide habitat for wildlife including frogs, salamanders, beavers and two endangered fish species. Aid stations are stocked with water, snacks and medical supplies; the 22K has four stations positioned along the route. Strollers are permitted with requirements for certain distances. A virtual option is available with mailed race packages for remote participants. The event is cupless and participants are asked to bring a reusable cup.
