Gruesome Twosome 22K, 11K, 5K & 1K
Gruesome Twosome is a family friendly urban trail event held at Aldergrove Regional Park. The event offers in person and virtual options, and supports BabyGoRound with a CAD 5 donation included in each registration. Early bird pricing ends April 1, 2026. Registration is open from December 1, 2025 until August 19, 2026 or until the participant limit of 300 is reached.
Course surfaces are wide, hard packed dirt and gravel trails weaving through meadows and mixed forest with wetland areas and views of nearby mountain ranges. Wildlife in the park includes frogs, salamanders and beavers, and two endangered fish species are present in the wetlands. The 5K route is mainly flat; the 11K mixes flat sections and undulating hills; the 22K is two laps of the 11K course. A 1K fun run on non technical trails is also available.
Registration includes a bib, a finisher medal, a smoothie or smoothie bowl from Stormy's Smoothies, finish line food, aid stations, draw prizes, and timing via a timing app. Aid stations are stocked with water, electrolyte drink mix and a range of snacks. Strollers that are suitable for gravel trails are welcome; for hilly routes some stroller running experience is recommended. Virtual entrants receive their event package by mail before the event and can run their chosen distance where they live. The event is cupless so participants should bring a reusable cup.
