Growler Gallop Atwater 10 Mile & 5K
The Growler Gallop Atwater is an annual running event taking place in Detroit, Michigan. The race starts and finishes at the Atwater Brewery, located at 237 Joseph Campau Street. The courses utilize the Detroit Riverwalk and Belle Isle, providing participants with views of the waterfront.
Participants can choose from several race distances and participation formats:
- 10 Mile: A USATF-certified course that follows the Detroit Riverwalk and loops around Belle Isle.
- 5K: A flat course along the Riverwalk with a turnaround point located before the Belle Isle Bridge.
- Virtual Race: Options for both the 10 Mile and 5K distances for those completing the distance independently.
- Chariot Divisions: Accessible categories for athletes riding in or pushing racing chairs, organized in partnership with a local nonprofit.
Registration options include a standard package and an economy package. The standard registration includes a hoodie, a finisher medal, and a post-race beer ticket for participants aged 21 and over. The economy package allows runners to participate in the race without receiving the medal, shirt, or beer ticket.
The event features chip timing and the 10 Mile distance includes pacers to assist runners with their tempo. This race is the fifth event in the six-part Trivium Michigan Mega Medal Series. Running clubs with 12 or more members can access specific amenities such as a team tent and designated facilities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
