Groovy Granite
Groovy Granite returns for its third edition at Lee River, on Treaty 1 territory, the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.
The event uses the historic grounds of the AECL Underground Research Laboratory and follows the rim of a large granite batholith. Runners see the Lee River, stretches of Boreal Forest, and weathered rock formations. The course is looped and offered in multiple distances.

Logistics include an aid station at the start and finish with water, electrolytes and snacks. The race is cupless; participants must use a reusable cup or hydration pack. Drop bags are available for 14 km and 21 km entrants. St. John Ambulance will provide on-site medical support and the race director may remove participants for safety reasons. Parking space is limited. Spectators are welcome; pacers are not allowed. All finishers receive custom medals and top finishers receive awards. Early registrants by May 10 are eligible for event gear and a personalized bib. Professional course photographs are provided free of charge and registrations include a BBQ voucher. Registration closes on June 7 and bib transfers are allowed until that date; there are no refunds and the director may alter or cancel the event for safety or environmental reasons.
