Groovy Granite
Groovy Granite is a looped trail race held in Lee River, MB on Sunday, June 13, 2027. The course runs along the rim of a large granite batholith on the historic grounds of the AECL Underground Research Laboratory, with views of the Lee River, Boreal Forest, and weathered rock formations. The event returns for its fourth edition on Treaty 1 territory, the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, Dene Peoples, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.

Race services include an aid station at the start and finish stocked with water, a sports drink, snack bars, candy, chips, and a pickle fountain. The event is cupless so participants are expected to bring a reusable cup or a hydration pack. Drop bags are available for 14 km and 21 km participants. First aid is on-site and the race director may remove participants for safety reasons. The course has a four hour cutoff.
Finishers receive custom medals and top finishers receive unique awards. A BBQ voucher is included with registration and free professional course photos will be provided. Registration opens February 6, 2027; registering by May 9, 2027 qualifies for a personalized bib. Parking is limited, no pacers are allowed, bib transfers are permitted until June 6, 2027, and no refunds are available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
