Event overview
The 23rd Annual Groom Creek Classic takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in Prescott, AZ (1110 E. Friendly Pines Road, 86303). The event includes the following distances:
- 1/2 Marathon
- 10k Run
- 5k Run
- Fun Run
Entry fees listed for this edition are $115 for the half marathon, $95 for the 10k, $75 for the 5k, and $35 for the fun run. Registration opens February 1, 2026. The half marathon field is limited to 100 spots, the 10k to 60 spots, and the 5k to 100 spots. The race page indicates the half marathon is full, the 10k has one spot left, and the 5k has 57 spots remaining.
Course and race services
The 10k and half marathon begin and end on pavement and also use smooth, wide dirt forest roads through the Ponderosa Pine forest of Groom Creek, located about 5 miles south of Prescott. The 5k and fun run remain on smooth pavement with rolling hills.
This edition will use a cupless format on course water stations; paper and plastic cups will not be provided on course. All entrants receive a reusable, foldable hydration bottle at registration and may use hydration packs. Cups will be available at start/finish stations. Free bag check is provided; standard event T-shirts and hydration bottles are included with entry.
Awards and extras
All entrants receive an event T-shirt and a foldable hydration bottle. Half marathon finishers receive a finisher medal.
