Groom Creek Classic: Half Marathon, 10K, 5K, Fun Run
The Groom Creek Classic takes place on September 19, 2026 at 1110 E. Friendly Pines Road, Prescott, Arizona 86303. The event is set in the Ponderosa Pine forest of Groom Creek, about five miles south of Prescott.
Courses are a mix of pavement and forest roads. The 5K and fun run remain on smooth pavement with rolling hills. The 10K and half marathon begin and end on pavement and also travel on smooth, wide dirt forest roads through the pine forest. Water stations are placed along the course for refilling reusable containers or hydration packs.
The event operates a cupless course: paper and plastic cups are not provided at on-course water stations. All runners receive a foldable reusable hydration bottle at registration. Cups will be available at the start and finish areas.
Registration opens February 1, 2026 and closes September 18, 2026. Entry fees differ by event. Field limits are in place for some distances: 100 half marathon spots, 60 10K spots, and 100 5K spots.
Participants receive an event T-shirt and a foldable hydration bottle. A finisher medal is awarded to all half marathon finishers. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in age groups for the half marathon, 10K, and 5K. Free bag check is provided; small plastic bags are available on request.
