General Information
The Groom Creek Classic is an annual running event held in the Ponderosa Pine forest, located five miles south of Prescott, Arizona. The event features multiple distances set within a forest environment known for cooler temperatures. The race operations follow a cupless format to reduce litter and waste within the forest.
Course Details
The courses vary in terrain depending on the selected distance. The 5k and 2 mile Fun Run take place entirely on paved surfaces with rolling hills. Participants in the 10k and Half Marathon start and finish on pavement but navigate the majority of their miles on wide, smooth dirt forest roads. Water stations are positioned throughout the courses for participants to refill their own containers.
