Grindleford Fell Race
The Grindleford Fell Race takes place over a 4.5 miles route that starts on the playing fields by Grindleford Pavilion. The course runs up through Hay Wood and the Longshore Estate and returns via Padley Gorge. A river crossing close to the finishing area provides visible spectator viewing.
The route is well marshalled and partially taped. The event does not require local knowledge or navigational skills and is presented as accessible to those new to fell racing. Minimum age for entry is 16 years.
Administrative details include an entry fee of £9.00 and recorded entries of 339 participants at the time of listing. Entries are open from 4 May 2026 and close on 17 June 2026.
On-site provisions include an option for a veggie or beef burger and a drink, served on the field where a pavilion tent will be in place.
