Grin & Bear It: races at Poverty Point State Park
The Grin & Bear It event takes place on November 7 2026 at Poverty Point State Park in Delhi Louisiana. Multiple running distances are offered and the event supports Project Pink, a Delhi Hospital & Clinics program that provides no cost mammograms and breast cancer screenings for uninsured patients.
Distances include:
- 1/2 Mile Kids Fun Run for ages 1 to 10
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K
- Half Marathon
Registration fees listed by the organizer include free entry for children in the kids fun run, $25 for the 5K and 10K, and $35 for the half marathon. Student discount entries are available at reduced fees and do not include a T-shirt. Registrants who meet the event's early registration deadline receive event T-shirts; late registrants are not guaranteed shirts. Extra shirts are available for purchase by the announced order deadline.
Packet pickup is available before race day at the Delhi Hospital classroom and at the race site on event day. Overall winners in each distance receive a $100 Visa gift card for male and female categories. Medals are awarded to first through third place in each age group for the 5K, 10K, and half marathon, and every child in the kids fun run receives a finish-line medal.
