Event overview
The Grim Challenge is a winter trail running event held on army vehicle testing ground at the Army Tank Training Area, Fleet Road, Aldershot. The event offers two distances:
- 4 miles
- 8 miles
The race uses natural terrain and features mud and water crossings; some sections may require crawling under cargo nets or wading through waist-high water. The organiser states the course uses natural obstacles formed by vehicle tracks and weather rather than built obstacles. The event’s charity partner is Combat Stress; charity places require fundraising commitments (4-mile charity place: raise £75, 8-mile charity place: raise £100). Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers in the 4-mile race, and to the first three male and female finishers plus masters categories (40, 50, 60+) in the 8-mile race. Minimum ages are 13 for the 4-mile race and 16 for the 8-mile race.
