Event overview
The Gril-Mato 5k takes place on February 21, 2026, in Orchard Park, New York. The event includes two distances:
- 5k run
- 1/2 mile Kids Run (open to ages 7 and under)
The main venue is Runners Roost at 4190 North Buffalo Street. The kids course and the 5k are USATF certified - 5k course NY22027JJ and kids course NY24017JJ. A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to FeedMore of WNY.
Race details
Post-race food will be provided by the Byrd House, with grilled cheese and tomato soup available to participants who select that option in advance; those participants receive a voucher redeemable during the post-race party. The Byrd House address for packet pickup is 4191 North Buffalo Road, Orchard Park. Packet pickup is scheduled for the evening before the race and again on race day at Runners Roost. The first 200 registered for the 2026 event will receive a long sleeve cotton tee if registered by February 7. Awards include overall and masters prizes, top 3 male and female awards in five-year age groups through 80+, and medals or ribbons for the kids run finishers.
